Hiatus

My external hard-drive is broken, so I have no access to music.

Which means I can't listen to it.

Which means I can't write about it (not that I've done much writing, lately).

Epic. Fail.

Soundtrack / Sin City

Soundtrack. Again. Lol.

Soundtrack / The Phantom of the Opera

Again with the soundtrack.

Saw the stage play, then listened to the film soundtrack. Film sucks in comparison to the real thing. srsly.

But that doesn't mean you shouldn't watch it anyway.

Soundtrack / Hairspray

I'm not going to write about soundtracks that require you to have seen the film/played the game, because most of the music is dependant on that happening.

So, I watched Hairspray. Listened to the soundtrack. And now posting telling you about it.

This is all you're gonna get, folks.

Okay, maybe not.

Hairspray is an awesome movie, really colourful and stuff. The songs are fun and the lyrics amusing at times, at times full of off-beat humour.

Pretty much go see the film.

(and love it.)

The Shins / Oh, Inverted World

  1. Caring Is Creepy
  2. One by One All Day
  3. Weird Divide
  4. Know Your Onion!
  5. Girl Inform Me
  6. New Slang
  7. The Celibate Life
  8. Girl on the Wing
  9. Your Algebra
  10. Pressed in a Book
  11. The Past and Pending
Another band I should have listened to earlier before. Another reason why I'm doing this album a day thing.

Caring Is Creepy sounds alright. Not awesome though. Just nice.

Weird Divide is another 'just nice' one.

Know Your Onion!, again, nice.

New Slang is probably one of the better tracks (along with Caring Is Creepy). Not too surprising though, considering both have got around.

Pressed in a Book could maybe be one of the better tracks. It's hard to tell, they're all just kind of meh. Bleh.

As if you didn't see this coming, the album's nice. There's really nothing too special. I think they need to be listened, they just may not be your thing. But for the people who like them, it's nothing to be ashamed of.

I'm actually surprised. I was expecting to be surprised, but because I was expecting The Shins to be like Sufjan - never listen to them, and for them to turn out to be kind of good. Instead I'm surprised that they're really... not.

I went for those album over their others because I knew Caring Is Creepy and New Slang and thought they were alright. I'm hoping that their other stuff will be more exciting.

Based on this album, they're good, just not awesome - and that makes me sad.

Favourite track is probably Caring Is Creepy (and that's probably a bit too predictable).

lose yourself in lines dissecting love.
